PRODUCT DETAILS

0.2 mL 96-Well Non-Skirted PCR Plate for Consistent PCR and qPCR Workflows

The Puretest 0.2 mL 96-well non-skirted PCR plate provides a flexible tube-array format for routine PCR workflows. With no rigid perimeter skirt, it offers broad block access and is suited to thermal cyclers that support non-skirted plates.

Ninety-six connected thin-wall wells form an 8 × 12 array without a rigid perimeter skirt. This keeps the plate lightweight and flexible, but means the thermal-cycler block or support frame must provide adequate mechanical support.

  • Uniform thin-wall molding: Promotes consistent heating and cooling from well to well.
  • Raised sealing rims: Help films or heat seals close each reaction independently.
  • Alphanumeric indexing: Supports plate maps, sample identification and orientation.
  • Clear and white options: Select optical configuration according to the PCR or qPCR detection method.
  • Automation-oriented supply: Technical drawings, samples, barcode and private-label options are available.

Plate Structure and Functional Design

Ninety-six connected thin-wall wells form an 8 × 12 array without a rigid perimeter skirt. This keeps the plate lightweight and flexible, but means the thermal-cycler block or support frame must provide adequate mechanical support.

Support the plate evenly during pipetting and centrifugation because the non-skirted frame is more flexible than semi- or full-skirted designs.

Dimensions, working volumes and compatibility are nominal unless stated in the current Puretest drawing. Validate the exact instrument, seal and thermal protocol before routine use.

Instrument Compatibility and Selection Guide

Compatible with thermal cyclers that explicitly support non-skirted 0.2 mL 96-well plates. Some instruments require a carrier or plate retainer. Confirm the block, heated lid and corner orientation.

  • Confirm the number of wells, block height, skirt style, corner cut and notch position.
  • For qPCR, confirm whether clear or white wells and an optical seal are required.
  • For automation, validate gripper access, deck carrier, barcode area and plate rigidity.
  • Request a physical sample before releasing a new plate into a validated assay.

Application Guide

Application Why This Format Is Suitable
Routine endpoint PCR Standard-height wells support common reaction volumes.
Genotyping Indexed 96-well layout supports multi-sample workflows.
Colony PCR Flexible non-skirted format suits routine amplification.
Sequencing preparation Supports amplification and cleanup staging.
Manual reaction setup Open sides improve access during handling and transfer.

Sealing, Thermal Cycling and Handling

  • Use an optical adhesive film, heat seal or cap solution compatible with the plate and detection method.
  • Apply uniform sealing pressure and confirm that every well rim is fully closed before cycling.
  • Centrifuge briefly when the protocol requires liquid collection at the well bottom, using a supported carrier.
  • Keep wells and sealing rims free from powder, oil and fingerprints.
  • Nominal well capacity is not the recommended reaction volume; preserve headspace and follow the assay protocol.

Material, Cleanliness and Quality Documentation

Puretest laboratory consumables are molded from high-purity polypropylene selected for chemical resistance, low biomolecule binding and dependable dimensional consistency. Available cleanliness, sterile and packaging configurations must be matched to the quoted catalog number.

If your workflow requires a Certificate of Analysis, Certificate of Conformance, irradiation record, DNase/RNase status, pyrogen limit, human-DNA limit, dimensional report or batch traceability, state the requirement before ordering. Puretest will confirm which documents apply to the selected configuration rather than treating every supply option as identical.

Ordering Information, Packaging and OEM Support

Puretest supports evaluation samples, current technical drawings, bulk and individually protected packaging, sterile and non-sterile options, customer catalog numbers, private labels, barcodes and distributor carton programs. MOQ, inner-pack quantity, case quantity, lead time, carton dimensions and shipping method are confirmed with the final specification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose a non-skirted PCR plate?

It offers broad block access and flexibility for instruments designed to support the well array directly.

Is it suitable for automation?

Only with a carrier that supports the flexible frame. Semi- or full-skirted plates are usually easier to grip robotically.

What is the maximum well volume?

Approximately 0.3 mL is a common maximum reference with a suitable seal, but reaction volume should follow the assay and instrument.

Can I cut the plate into strips?

Do not cut the plate unless the selected configuration is specifically designed as segmented.

Are sterile options necessary for PCR?

PCR plates are commonly supplied non-sterile with molecular-biology cleanliness controls. Confirm your workflow requirements.
