Breathable Heat Sealing Film

Breathable heat sealing film is a gas-permeable cover bonded with a heat sealer. It brings a thermal sealing step to plate-culture workflows that require gas exchange, with sheet and roll configurations selected around the equipment and plate.

  • Gas-permeable cover: For incubation workflows that need exchange through the membrane.
  • Thermal sealing: Requires a compatible plate and a validated sealing process.
  • Sheet and roll choices: Choose a feed format that matches your workflow.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Breathable heat sealing film is a gas-permeable cover bonded with a heat sealer. It brings a thermal sealing step to plate-culture workflows that require gas exchange, with sheet and roll configurations selected around the equipment and plate.

Product Highlights

  • Gas-permeable cover. For incubation workflows that need exchange through the membrane.
  • Thermal sealing. Requires a compatible plate and a validated sealing process.
  • Sheet and roll choices. Choose a feed format that matches your workflow.
  • Removal and access. The reference construction is peelable/pierceable; qualify those functions for the chosen method.

Structure and Functional Design

Component Function
Breathable membrane A white membrane rather than a clear optical film or opaque metal foil.
Heat-sealing interface Bonds to compatible plate rims using controlled heat and pressure.
Supply format Precut sheets or a continuous roll for the selected sealer.

Technical Specifications and Selection Guide

Use the configurations below to specify your inquiry. Dimensions and thicknesses are reference configurations, not a guarantee of stock or universal compatibility. The selected grade, usable sealing area, packaging and operating limits will be confirmed in the quotation and product specification.

Configuration Nominal thickness Reference dimensions Equipment consideration
Precut sheet 90 ± 10 µm 125 × 80 mm Confirm plate coverage and sealer sheet handling.
Roll feed 90 ± 10 µm 80 mm × 500 m Confirm core, roll diameter and winding direction.
Item Selection information
Sealing method Thermal sealing
Membrane behavior Breathable; reference grade is peelable/pierceable
Material selection Request the exact membrane and seal-layer specification
Qualification Gas exchange, evaporation, plate compatibility and seal consistency

Applications

For microplate culture and incubation workflows combining gas exchange with heat-sealer operation. Consider the culture’s oxygen demand, medium volume, incubation humidity and shaking alongside sealing equipment requirements.

Application and Compatibility Checklist

  1. Confirm that heat sealing is permitted by the plate design and your culture workflow.
  2. Select the membrane based on required gas exchange and acceptable evaporation. Do not use thickness as a permeability rating.
  3. Qualify the sealing process with the specific plate and sealer; inspect the full perimeter and well array.
  4. Run a representative incubation trial before scale-up. Assess culture performance, water loss, seal removal and any planned sampling through the cover.
Selection note: A breathable heat seal is not a hermetic storage barrier and is not interchangeable with adhesive breathable film. Do not infer sterility or liquid-tight transport suitability from the white membrane appearance.

Ordering Information

For a useful quotation, send your plate model or drawing, preferred film construction, sheet size or roll-feed requirements, application conditions, quantity and destination country. For heat-seal products, include the sealer model. If lot-specific quality documents or special packaging are required, list them in the inquiry so they can be checked for the selected grade.

Evaluate a representative sample under your actual workflow before changing a qualified laboratory consumable. A general family description does not replace grade-specific test data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose heat sealing rather than adhesive breathable film?

The choice depends on equipment, throughput and plate compatibility. Heat sealing requires process qualification; adhesive sheets can be applied manually.

Is it suitable for long storage?

Choose according to the sample’s storage requirements. A gas-permeable cover may allow vapor loss and is not equivalent to an impermeable storage seal.

What information is needed for a roll quotation?

Provide sealer model, width, core diameter, permitted roll diameter and winding direction, plus plate model, annual usage and destination.
