The Puretest 40 µL 384-well one-notch PCR plate provides high-density low-volume amplification in an ABI®-type full-skirted frame. Its 4.5 mm well pitch and rigid deck support high-throughput PCR, qPCR and automated reaction setup after instrument validation.

Three hundred eighty-four thin-wall wells are arranged at 4.5 mm pitch within a full-skirt frame. The one-notch corner/orientation pattern is designed around selected ABI-type 384-well carriers. High-density geometry demands accurate pipetting and a flat, rigid deck.

Plate Structure and Functional Design

Use calibrated 384-channel or low-volume dispensing equipment where possible. Apply uniform sealing pressure and centrifuge in a fully supported 384-well carrier.

Instrument Compatibility and Selection Guide

Designed around selected ABI®-type 384-well blocks using a one-notch orientation. Confirm the exact instrument, notch position, corner cut, plate color and optical seal. A one-notch plate should not be substituted for a two-notch Roche®-type frame without validation.

  • Confirm the number of wells, block height, skirt style, corner cut and notch position.
  • For qPCR, confirm whether clear or white wells and an optical seal are required.
  • For automation, validate gripper access, deck carrier, barcode area and plate rigidity.
  • Request a physical sample before releasing a new plate into a validated assay.

Sealing, Thermal Cycling and Handling

  • Use an optical adhesive film, heat seal or cap solution compatible with the plate and detection method.
  • Apply uniform sealing pressure and confirm that every well rim is fully closed before cycling.
  • Centrifuge briefly when the protocol requires liquid collection at the well bottom, using a supported carrier.
  • Keep wells and sealing rims free from powder, oil and fingerprints.
  • Nominal well capacity is not the recommended reaction volume; preserve headspace and follow the assay protocol.
