PRODUCT DETAILS

40 µL 384-Well PCR Plate, Roche®-Type, Two-Notch for Consistent PCR and qPCR Workflows

The Puretest 40 µL 384-well two-notch PCR plate combines high-density low-volume wells with a Roche®-type full-skirt frame. Two orientation notches distinguish the carrier geometry for compatible real-time PCR systems and automated workflows.

The full-skirt frame holds 384 thin-wall wells at 4.5 mm pitch and includes two instrument-oriented notches. These features help align the plate in selected Roche-type carriers, while the rigid perimeter supports uniform sealing and automated handling.

  • Clear and white options: Select optical configuration according to the PCR or qPCR detection method.
  • Automation-oriented supply: Technical drawings, samples, barcode and private-label options are available.

Plate Structure and Functional Design

The full-skirt frame holds 384 thin-wall wells at 4.5 mm pitch and includes two instrument-oriented notches. These features help align the plate in selected Roche-type carriers, while the rigid perimeter supports uniform sealing and automated handling.

Check both orientation notches before loading the instrument. Use low-volume calibrated pipetting and a full-support carrier during centrifugation and sealing.

Instrument Compatibility and Selection Guide

Designed around selected Roche®-type 384-well carriers using a two-notch orientation. Confirm the exact LightCycler or other instrument model, notch position, well color and optical seal. Do not assume compatibility from well count alone.

  • Confirm the number of wells, block height, skirt style, corner cut and notch position.
  • For qPCR, confirm whether clear or white wells and an optical seal are required.
  • For automation, validate gripper access, deck carrier, barcode area and plate rigidity.
  • Request a physical sample before releasing a new plate into a validated assay.

Application Guide

Application Why This Format Is Suitable
High-throughput qPCR 384 low-volume wells support compatible real-time detection platforms.
Gene-expression profiling High density supports large target and sample matrices.
Genotyping Low-volume format reduces reagent consumption.
Screening workflows Rigid plate geometry supports automated reaction setup.
Molecular assay development Provides a two-notch frame for compatible instrument validation.

Sealing, Thermal Cycling and Handling

  • Use an optical adhesive film, heat seal or cap solution compatible with the plate and detection method.
  • Apply uniform sealing pressure and confirm that every well rim is fully closed before cycling.
  • Centrifuge briefly when the protocol requires liquid collection at the well bottom, using a supported carrier.
  • Keep wells and sealing rims free from powder, oil and fingerprints.
  • Nominal well capacity is not the recommended reaction volume; preserve headspace and follow the assay protocol.

Material, Cleanliness and Quality Documentation

Puretest laboratory consumables are molded from high-purity polypropylene selected for chemical resistance, low biomolecule binding and dependable dimensional consistency. Available cleanliness, sterile and packaging configurations must be matched to the quoted catalog number.

If your workflow requires a Certificate of Analysis, Certificate of Conformance, irradiation record, DNase/RNase status, pyrogen limit, human-DNA limit, dimensional report or batch traceability, state the requirement before ordering. Puretest will confirm which documents apply to the selected configuration rather than treating every supply option as identical.

Ordering Information, Packaging and OEM Support

Puretest supports evaluation samples, current technical drawings, bulk and individually protected packaging, sterile and non-sterile options, customer catalog numbers, private labels, barcodes and distributor carton programs. MOQ, inner-pack quantity, case quantity, lead time, carton dimensions and shipping method are confirmed with the final specification.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from the ABI®-type one-notch plate?

The skirt orientation features differ. Use the plate designed for the exact carrier and instrument.

Is the plate only for qPCR?

It can support PCR, qPCR and other compatible thermal workflows, but optical color and sealing requirements vary.

Why are white wells often used?

White wells can improve fluorescence reflection and reduce optical cross-talk in some qPCR systems.

Can it be handled robotically?

Yes after validating the gripper, deck carrier, plate height and barcode location.

Can Puretest provide both notch styles?

Yes. State the instrument model so the correct one-notch or two-notch sample can be supplied.
