The Puretest 2.0 mL 96-well round U-bottom deep well plate is a high-capacity general-purpose format for sample processing, storage, mixing and resuspension. Round wells provide open pipette access, while the curved U bottoms support fluid movement and recovery across manual and automated workflows.
The Puretest 2.0 mL 96-well round U-bottom deep well plate is a high-capacity general-purpose format for sample processing, storage, mixing and resuspension. Round wells provide open pipette access, while the curved U bottoms support fluid movement and recovery across manual and automated workflows.
The 96 round wells are arranged in an 8 × 12 array and terminate in broad U-shaped bottoms. Compared with square high-volume plates, the round-well profile offers generous tool clearance and smooth sample circulation; compared with a V bottom, it does not force all liquid into a narrow apex, which may be preferable for vigorous resuspension and general storage.

Preserve sufficient headspace when using orbital shaking, heat sealing or transport. For automated aspiration, establish the center position and bottom offset using the current drawing; do not copy settings from square-well or V-bottom plates.

| Application | Why This Format Is Suitable |
|---|---|
| High-volume sample storage | Stores larger aliquots in an organized 96-position format. |
| Mixing and resuspension | Round U bottoms support smooth fluid circulation and pellet recovery. |
| Genomic sample preparation | Handles lysates, wash buffers and intermediate samples. |
| Compound-library processing | Supports indexed storage and transfer to downstream assay plates. |
| Suspension workflows | Provides headspace and geometry suitable for validated shaking protocols. |
| Automated liquid handling | Common footprint supports robotic integration after physical testing. |
The plate is manufactured from natural high-purity polypropylene selected for chemical resistance, low biomolecule binding and reliable molding consistency. Available cleanliness and supply configurations should be defined in the quotation. Puretest can confirm the applicable DNase/RNase, pyrogen, sterility and lot-document status for the selected catalog configuration.
If your workflow requires a Certificate of Analysis, Certificate of Conformance, irradiation record, dimensional report, extractables information or a specific contaminant limit, state the requirement before ordering. This ensures that the quoted SKU and batch documentation match your laboratory or regulated purchasing specification.
The plate footprint is designed around common ANSI/SLAS microplate conventions for use with multichannel pipettes, plate handlers and automated liquid-handling platforms. Compatibility still depends on the instrument carrier, gripper, deck position, plate height, tip penetration and software settings; validate the current drawing and a physical sample before routine automation.
Puretest supports samples, technical drawings, sterile and non-sterile supply options, private labels, customer catalog numbers, barcodes, customized pouch and carton artwork, and distributor packaging programs. MOQ, case quantity, carton dimensions, lead time and international shipping method are confirmed with the selected configuration.
| Nominal Format | Well Geometry | Best-Fit Workflow |
|---|---|---|
| 200 µL elution | 96-well square V-bottom | Low-volume nucleic-acid elution and magnetic-bead workflows |
| 1.2 mL | 96-well round U-bottom | Resuspension, sample processing and compact storage |
| 1.6 mL | 96-well square U-bottom | Higher capacity in an automation-friendly footprint |
| 2.0 mL | 96-well round U-bottom | Mixing, recovery and general sample processing |
| 2.2 mL | 96-well U- and V-bottom options | Magnetic-bead processing, high-volume storage and extraction |
| 2.3 mL | 96-well square diamond bottom | Low-dead-volume mixing, automated extraction and high-volume sample processing |
| 4.6 mL | 48-well square U-bottom | Larger-volume culture, mixing and sample preparation |
Choose by required working volume, residual-volume target, mixing method, sealing method and instrument carrier. Request the current drawing before validating an automated protocol.
Choose this format for higher-volume storage, mixing and resuspension when open round-well access is preferred over the maximum capacity of square wells or the pointed recovery zone of V bottoms.
Nominal capacity is not a safe shaking volume. Leave headspace for fluid motion, foaming, thermal expansion and the selected seal.
It can support validated extraction steps, but magnetic processors may require a specific square-well geometry, tip comb or carrier. Confirm the complete system before ordering.
Selected configurations can be autoclaved at 121°C for 20 minutes. Confirm the quoted SKU and avoid mechanical load while the plate is hot.
Sterile and non-sterile options can be discussed, with applicable batch documentation confirmed in the quotation.
