The 96 round wells are arranged in an 8 × 12 array and terminate in broad U-shaped bottoms. Compared with square high-volume plates, the round-well profile offers generous tool clearance and smooth sample circulation; compared with a V bottom, it does not force all liquid into a narrow apex, which may be preferable for vigorous resuspension and general storage.

Sealing, Storage and Handling

  • Use a compatible adhesive film, heat-sealing film or silicone sealing mat selected for the well geometry.
  • Keep the sealing surface clean and dry; confirm plate and sealer settings before transport or long-term storage.
  • For validated autoclavable configurations, use 121°C for 20 minutes and allow the plate to cool without mechanical load. Confirm the current SKU before autoclaving.
  • Leave adequate headspace for mixing, shaking, thermal expansion and sealing; nominal well capacity is not the recommended working volume.
  • Confirm the supported temperature and centrifugation limits for the selected SKU, rotor, carrier and fill volume.
  • Inspect the plate and package before use. Do not use a sterile product if its package is open, wet, punctured or otherwise damaged.

When should I choose 2.0 mL round U-bottom wells?

Choose this format for higher-volume storage, mixing and resuspension when open round-well access is preferred over the maximum capacity of square wells or the pointed recovery zone of V bottoms.

Can I fill each well to 2.0 mL during shaking?

Nominal capacity is not a safe shaking volume. Leave headspace for fluid motion, foaming, thermal expansion and the selected seal.

Is it suitable for magnetic-bead extraction?

It can support validated extraction steps, but magnetic processors may require a specific square-well geometry, tip comb or carrier. Confirm the complete system before ordering.

Can I autoclave the plate?
