A 100 mm gripping-ring dish with its own growth-area specification. The 100 mm gripping-ring dish has a 59.3 cm² reference growth area. This is not the same area as the 57.6 cm² standard-rim version, even though both use the nominal 100 mm designation. Select by configuration and growth area together, especially when transferring a seeding-density calculation between vessels.
The flat culture base gives access for medium exchange and cell harvesting. Transparent PS allows routine inspection; for demanding microscopy, specify the required optical surface rather than assuming a standard PS dish is equivalent to glass-bottom ware.
An external gripping ring distinguishes this version from the standard rim. It is a handling feature, not an additional culture surface or a leakproof closure. The lift-off lid allows access across the dish. Keep the vessel upright; it is not a sealed specimen-transport container.
Cell attachment and growth remain cell-line and protocol dependent. Where a specialist coating is required, follow the cell supplier’s instructions and qualify the selected surface.
