The clot activator supports clot formation before serum separation. Unlike a serum separator gel tube, this configuration has no gel barrier to isolate serum from the clot after centrifugation. Sample transfer and handling should follow the laboratory method.
For serum-based tests that accept clot activator tubes and do not require a gel barrier. Selection must be consistent with the assay’s sample requirements.
