Serum Separator Gel Blood Collection Tube

Vacuum blood collection tube with clot activator and separator gel for serum preparation in laboratory testing workflows.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Product Highlights

  • Clot activator and separator gel in one collection tube
  • Gel barrier separates serum from the clot after the validated centrifugation cycle
  • Transparent tube body for visual sample inspection

Structure & Functional Design

The closure combines a protective outer cap with a puncturable rubber stopper. A clot activator supports serum preparation; the gel forms a physical barrier between the serum and clot during centrifugation. This is a serum tube, not an EDTA plasma tube.

Applications

For serum-based clinical chemistry and immunoassay workflows that accept separator gel. Check the assay instructions before selecting a gel tube for drug, trace-element or other interference-sensitive testing.

Ordering Information

Specify the additive, tube material, dimensions, required draw volume and order quantity. Each table row shows the corresponding size, capacity and packing combination. Request the item specification, labeling details and supplied instructions with the quotation.

Handling & Storage

  • For use by trained personnel. Check the tube identity, packaging integrity and expiry information before use.
  • Follow the supplied collection, mixing and processing instructions. Fill to the specified volume; use the validated clotting and centrifugation conditions where applicable.
  • Keep unused tubes in their original packaging under the labeled storage conditions. Follow the assay-specific limits for specimen transport and storage.
  • Handle used tubes and blood specimens as potentially infectious and dispose of them according to laboratory requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from a clot activator tube?

Both are intended for serum preparation. This version also contains separator gel; a clot activator-only tube does not form a gel barrier.

Does the tube need to clot before centrifugation?

Yes. Follow the supplied instructions for complete clot formation and the validated centrifugation conditions; do not substitute a generic RPM setting.
