No-Additive Blood Collection Tube

Plain vacuum blood collection tube without anticoagulant, clot activator or separator gel, for workflows requiring an untreated collection tube.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Product Highlights

  • No added anticoagulant, clot activator or gel
  • Transparent round-bottom tube for sample visibility
  • Plain-tube configuration distinct from clot activator and separator gel tubes

Structure & Functional Design

The tube uses a capped rubber-stopper closure and a transparent body. No anticoagulant is included, so a no-additive tube must not be treated as an EDTA, heparin or citrate whole-blood tube. Glass and PET configurations should be selected according to the collection and assay procedure.

Applications

For laboratory collection procedures that specifically require a plain no-additive tube. Serum preparation and clotting requirements depend on the selected material and the applicable laboratory procedure.

Ordering Information

Specify the additive, tube material, dimensions, required draw volume and order quantity. Each table row shows the corresponding size, capacity and packing combination. Request the item specification, labeling details and supplied instructions with the quotation.

Handling & Storage

  • For use by trained personnel. Check the tube identity, packaging integrity and expiry information before use.
  • Follow the supplied collection, mixing and processing instructions. Fill to the specified volume; use the validated clotting and centrifugation conditions where applicable.
  • Keep unused tubes in their original packaging under the labeled storage conditions. Follow the assay-specific limits for specimen transport and storage.
  • Handle used tubes and blood specimens as potentially infectious and dispose of them according to laboratory requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a red cap enough to identify a no-additive tube?

No. Cap colors vary between manufacturers and product lines. Identify the tube from its additive label and item specification.

Is this the same as a clot activator tube?

No. A no-additive tube contains no added clot activator; do not assume the same clotting time or processing conditions.
